Got the salinity and everything matched.... and rinsed sand as best I could... added sand... and had a MASSIVE SANDSTORM!!!!!!! I was so frustrated last night... the sand was added at 4 pm yesterday (aragonite medium grain) and this morning the tank was still cloudy but not near as bad as yesterday... I have a spare canister filter with carbon and filter floss running only...
I have all my livestock and rocks with coral attached to them in 2 totes... with heaters... and air stones... im hoping to god I do not lose to much livestock over this fiasco... they have been in the totes since 1 pm yesterday...
Can anyone give me any pointers on this DUST produced from the sand??? It looks like a fine layer of dust is settling on the bottem of the tank on top of the larger grains of sand.. im worried that once I start building my reef.. the storm of dust will come back ... :( I really want to get everything back into a solid system.. everything is so stressed... dam sand....
