Using that detailed guide I figured with my 3x 90 degree bends, 5ft head height, and my ball valve I ll be looking at a loss of 765 US gallons P/H (637 UK gallons P/H) flow ?????? really??. Figured I want to aim for 5 x tank turnover as recommended to get a not too fast flow through sump and refugium to aid skimmer . Vortech MP40es in DT will increase overall turnover for the sps. so....
lets say 80 uk gallon (taking away rocks etc DT) x 5 = 400 gallon PH add the 637PH loss of flow???above due to design of sump and pipes.... thats a pump requiring to shift 1037 gallon P/H of flow:funny: to get 5 x turnover through sump. Do I subtract the 600 the drain can most likely do to get it back in the real world because what pump shifts that amount 1037 p/h. Confused aint the word right now.
