Hi. My name is Sherrill and I'm from S. Fla.
I have a 55 gal tank set up that became a reef tank about 6 years ago. I have had salt tanks for years and slowly progressed to my tank now. I have done what might be considered a poor mans tank. I have a hang on overflow with an approx.. 10 gal home made refugium. I keep my Cheato on a 24/7 light schedule. I just replaced my lights with LEDs and have so far had great results. I don't use protein skimmers, oxidizers, chillers or dosers. So far my params stay constant and I have the luxury of sea water. I use only ocean water, taken at high tide when clear. All the things they tell you not to do seem to work so far for me. I have read many forums on this site over the years and have gleaned a lot of information from them I hope I can help add some info for people like me who try to keep a nice tank without too much expense.:)
