I recently bought a 200 gallon bag of Red Sea CP salt. I have been using it for the last year or so. Two weeks ago I made the switch to the new batch. The salt mixed normal giving me the same numbers as the previous batch. Alk around 11, calcium around 480 and mag around 1400. I proceeded to do my weekly 22 gallon WC as normal. Here's my dilemma.
The tips of my acros are now burnt. They are all white and gave now browned. My montis are fading in color and my birdsnests have all experienced STN. I have removed my BN and have tipped all my acros.
My water checks out pretty decent except pH and Mag. My mag is really high 1800 and my pH is dipping below 7.6 at night with a day time reading of 7.85. My pH normally is around 8.1 - 8.2. Alk is around 9.75. I used two separate RS test kits to measure each twice. I have two pH meters that were used to measure.
I don't dose anything. I dumped the salt into reef crystal buckets and discarded the bag, so I can't share the lot number.
Any ideas? Pictures did not come out well.
