Blue-Green cyano change to red?

I've been battling Blue-green Cyano for 2 months in my 40b reef tank (8 months old) with water changes, high flow, phosguard, and less lights. Immoved off most of the substrate and moved up the rocks. Now some hair algae is replacing the blu-green cyano on the rocks and Red cyano is showing up on the substrate where it used to be blue-green. Does cyano normally change colors like that and is this a sign that something else is off balance in my tank??
