Can you lower the drive on a 250w HQI DE bulb down to the selectable 150 or 175w setting that's available on a Lumatek e-ballast?
Would running a 250w HQI bulb at 150w shorten the life of the bulb, damage the bulb?
Would it actually save you a 100w draw on your electric bill?
I have a 6ft tank and really don't want to run 3 pendants at 250w making my electric meter spins like crazy at 750 total watts. I would feel more comfortable running 3 pendants at 150watts at a total of 450watts.
Help me figure out how to avoid a $300 or more monthly electric bill....
