Hey guys my name is Stephanie! I live in southern jersey near a nice aquarium store that got me started on a saltwater setup, I have no previous experience but I do have a planted freshwater tank.
this is what I have going so far:
120 gallon marineland tank with a glass canopy lid (looking for something better)
aquatop cf500
2 hydor heaters 400 & 200 w
Aqueon led light (its ok... will probably change this)
5 bags of live sand and a bunch of live rock (the rock is just kinda in the tank right now Im waiting on more before I start putting it all together)
Only on day 4 of the cycle and the water is clear, I have a hydrometer and it says Im at 1.028 which I know is too high... Im new to this science
Im also waiting on a AquaFX Barracuda RO/DI Unit so I dont have to tank buckets to the local fish store. Heres hoping that a 5-10% water change at the end of the week will help the salinity level? Will this effect the cycle if the salinity is at that level?
I feel like Im going to be asking alot of questions and doing alot of research so please bear with me :)
