Alright im sure all you experienced reefers are having a field day with all of my posts, but hey i bet its a major ego booster when you can help a guy like me out! Ive got some button polyps that are starting to shrivel up and not look too healthy. Ive got some zoas, mushrooms, gsps, pipe organs, and several other buttons that are all doing fine. The ones that seem to be shriveling up have a bright green center and brown rim but everything else is looks healthy and happy. All my parameters seem to be fine (zeros across the board for all that bad stuff, ph 8.2, salinity 1.028, temp 79, calcium 500, alk 9dkh). And i have also noticed that some of my coralline has been bleaching. Starting with white specs and eventually turning white. Although it looks like it has been getting better. The only thing i can think is maybe my lighting? I am running a fluval 48" pro marine and reef full spectrum led. The lights go on at 8am and switch to just the blues (25k) dimmed at 50% around 7pm. So full blast for 11 hours, with just actinic from 7pm to 8am the next morning. The power level i have the blues set is very low, the tank is almost completely dark at night but i like to keep a little something in there instead of a black out. I have also noticed some mini air bubbles building up on my live rock and on some of my powerheads. I thought maybe this was just oxygen from my sump and equipment i am running, or could this have something to do with photosynthesis? Ah im so confused right now still trying to understand everything. Ive searched lighting schedules and everyone has something different to say, so what else would cause bleaching and those specific buttons to be unhappy? Lack of light or too much light? I also alternate my fuge lights with my display lights, so i was told to do this.
