Hi there,
I've had my 29g biocube running for about 7 weeks and all systems GO!
I know it is too early to add corals at this point, but wondering:
How do you know when the "time is right" to get corals? (Geez, I feel like I am asking romantic advice or something.) Are there certain parameters in your water/tank that you look for to recognize that it is capable of supporting the corals?
Also, how do you know how much your tank size can support? I assume that if all is going well, these guys would grow and expand in the tank.
I currently have live rock, with a tuxedo urchin, a skunk cleaner shrimp, a clown fish, a banggai cardinal, 2 small hermits, and a handful of snails. My overall livestock goal would be to add a pistol shrimp/goby pair and maybe one more fish and then call it done on critters/fish. However, I am also really excited to start with corals. It will be my first time and I've been making a list of types that would (hopefully) work with my current lighting system (stock lighting in the updated Oceanic biocube).
My wish list:
Duncans
zoas
lavendar mushroom coral
brain coral
brain worm coral
toadstool leather
acroporas
torches
tube coral
etc....
Anything really not going to work in this list? Something that should start first/last?
Thanks for any advice! Corals are really, really NEW territory for me.
