When old reefers go evil

So a local friend kept multiple 600g tanks and cultivated corals for a long time.

Well he turned 82 last summer and decided it was time to retire. I helped break down some of the systems last summer and his corals went to various clients ect.

Anyways we joked about the silly things that seem like a waste and the things we've avoided. He never kept sand ever so we joked he needed to keep a 600g in his family room and put in sand. Then the idea came up to have just sand no rocks nothing. But de agreed three hermit crabs.. Because two is wrong when two bicker about food or a shell the third always sneaks in and comically gets it.

So 600g 3" sand bed and 3 hermits lol

Then said and the pineapple house from sponge bob his grand daughter always asked him why he didn't have one.

So 3 hermits sand and sponge bob's house.

I offered the idea of one fish the cheapo chromis. Just one to live in the house lol

Sunday he called saying he had to leave one tank up...and I need to see it as it was done and stocked. I said it would be a few weeks so he ruined the joke.

Welp 600g 3" sand bed, 3 hermits a dozen extra shells, a single pineapple sponge bob house. One chromis and two (mated) engineer gobies.....

He's had that honor pair years and kept them. But do you understand why?

Well the only thing to tunnel under is the pineapple house...so as the hermits act nuts, the high strung chromis has his house and the engineer gobies turn his house into the leaning tower of Pisa Until it falls over...and the chromis freaks out the whole time!

Lol he said its so enjoyable to watch, he just has to set the house back upright every few days lol.

When old reefers go evil....
