spotted hawkfish eating pellets

So this morning while feeding my clownfish pellets like I do every morning, I noticed my spotted hawkfish floating near the top behind the heater sensor. Hes a weirdo and usually does that, so I didn't think anything of it until I put the pellets in for the clownfish but to my surprise the hawkfish darted over and gobbled up 6 or 7 of them. I added more so the clownfish got some and the hawkfish ate a few more. I thought hawkfish only ate meat. O.o he did seem to enjoy the pellets though.
