Soundproofing

What do you guys like for muffling the noise from your gear? I know there's going to be some noise but I'd really like to have as little as possible cause the tank is right next to a couch.



I've seen yoga mats, acoustic panels, and cork board, as well as like mudflaps around the holes in the back of the sump. Also, the thing where you screw your pump onto a piece of starboard.



I'm leaning toward the cork board cause it seems cheap and easy enough to instal, but I'm not sure I can paint it well enough to keep it dry down there?
