as stated I have 3 planted tanks.
10 gallon:
substrate-play sand
heater- great choice slim heater (el cheapo for now)
lighting- 2 cfl bulbs from walmart in a hood (until I get led)
filter- whisper filter from walmart with fluval media designed to fit in my fluval hob filter, rigged but works really good and was very cheap lol
plants-décor- 1 amazon sword 1 anubias congensis 1 fake tree root.
fish- 1 dwarf flame gourami 1 rubber lip 4 black tetras 4 danios
haven't had the tank set up long but plants look good and fish are doing great.
29 gallon:
substrate- play sand mixed with carib sea flora max substrate
heater: not sure the name, got it from walmart keeps tank at 78-79 all day and night
lighting: National geographic led light, absolutely love it
plants- anarchis, xmas moss, dwarf hairgrass, java ferns,1 amazon sword, 1 plant I don't know the name of but I think its an anubias of some sort
filter- fluval hob size is 30 its a 3 stage filter and does a great job
fish-5 neon tetras, 5 glow light tetras, 1 gourami, 4 long finned black skirt tetras, 1 algea eater, 2 snails, and a Julia catfish
plants are doing great had them for a long time, rarely trim anything in the tank and they look healthy, my favorite of the three
55 gallon:
substrate- bottom layer sakrete multipurpose sand, top layer carib sea flora max
heater- same as 29 gal just a size bigger, again heats tank 78-79 all day long
lighting- national geographic led light, same as 29 just for a 55, love this one as well
plants- dwarf hair grass, java ferns, amazon swords, many different anubias
filter- fluval 306 canister filter, like the fluval hob filter just on steroids lol great fliter I also have a bubble bar to agitate the surface in this tank
fish- 2 tiger barbs, 3 bala sharks, 3 eclips catfish, 2 angel. 2 paroon sharks, 1 huge pleco, 1 rubber lip. yes I know most of these fish will get to big for this tank eventually that's not my worries, my worries in this tank are the plants... they are all getting a lot of dead spots and major browning its planted about as heavily as my 29 gallon is, they aren't starving eachother out they just aren't growing well and im not sure why, ive trimmed a little but not a ton. I dose each tank with c02 booster every day, do water changes every so often, and dose with excel once a week, sometimes twice. the only tank im having problems with my plants is my 55 though. anyone have any ideas on why that would be?
