I got a BTA last week and he was my last addition where I was ready to say let me enjoy my tank for a little bit before adding anything else.
Well I woke up this morning to check on him like I do every morning and my tank was cloudy and saw he got sucked into my PH. I didn't even think about this and then after looking it up it seems like it is a common thing. Lesson learned.
Everything in the tank seems to be doing ok, fish, corals and invertabrates. I changed out about 15 gallons of water from my 29g tank and the tank seems to be much clearer now and staying that way. I am also running some extra carbon then I usually do.
I am thinking about changing out another 10 gallons tonight or tomorrow but not sure if that is even necassary at this point? I know they can release deadly toxins into the water but how do you know when you are in the clear of that? Is it something that takes an immediate effect or can the effect take days or weeks to hit?
Ammonia is at zero and PH is at 8.0.
Any suggestions or guidance if there is anything else I need to do or to keep an eye out for?
