Leaving low-light actinics on 24/7

I have mostly zoas/palys and acans. I have a programmable LED lighting system.

If I have an 8hr dark period (no lights) the zoas/palys close up.

If I instead leave the actinics ON at a very low 10%, it keeps the zoas/palys open all night long until a new light cycle starts around 6am.

QUESTION: will I get better growth and color if I use a low-light actinic to keep the zoas/palys from 'sleeping' and closing up? or do zoas/palys need (require) a certain amount to closed-up 'sleeptime' ???
