Ok.......back in the hobby after 30 years. Back in the undergravel filter days. Been lurking here for quite a while soaking up ideas. So, I'll try to keep this short. Just about ready to roll, and I wanted to run my ideas out there:
I have a 75 reef ready tank with a 30 gallon sump. Drilled, durso drainpipe. 6 bulb T5 fixture but no bulbs. Skimmer in the sump. Heaters. That's all I gots so far.......
Want to get eventually to doing small fishies, softies, maybe some mushrooms.
My plan:
Questions:
I think I have everything else settled on from much perusing here. I appreciate all the info on here. It's been a great help
Thanks
Dave

Want to get eventually to doing small fishies, softies, maybe some mushrooms.
My plan:
- RO/DI system
- Eheim 1262 return pump
- Live rock in the sump, more in the DT
- 1/2" to 1" sand bed
- SCWD wavemaker
- Rock in the DT up on the acrylic pillars I saw here. Hoping to keep the rock off the back glass for cleaning
Questions:
- What else, if anything, in the sump? Socks, foam, whatever........I was simply planning on running the drain from the Durso pipe down underwater in the sump to minimize splashing noise
- I was thinking about running one of the outputs from the wavemaker thingie down under the rock with a spray bar down there. Is that necessary?
- What type of bulbs for the T5 fixture?
I think I have everything else settled on from much perusing here. I appreciate all the info on here. It's been a great help
