What happened to my di

I bought my spectrapure refurb in January of 2013. 6 month in changed my carbon and sediment. A year in I bought a new di but left it in the fridge for a month since I was still getting 0 tds. I was having issues and changed it about a month later just to help rule it out that was February of 2014. The last time I made water my color changing di hadn't changed not at all. This last time I made water it was completely pink non of the color changing black. So of course I pulled out my tds meter and the battery was dead. But normally I have a tds in the 60s. My ro only is between 2 and 3. So the first one went a year and was still good this last one not even 6 months. I sent spectrapure a thread on rc in there sponsor section but haven't heard back yet. I'm pretty baffled
