Biocube, worth it, or not?

I've recently acquired an 8 gallon biocube. It was more of a gift, of sorts. Considering the fans don't work, the previous owner decided to give it to me, as long as I went through the task of fixing it up. However, after reading several reviews over the quality of this product, I am debating on wether or not it's worth it. I was wanting input or advise on previous owners of this system and their experiences. Thank you.
