Mandarin

Has anyone here kept a mandarin succesfully for years. I know about the pods requirement and that most wont eat other things...but assuming you build a large refugium and add pods regularly and have a place for them to reproduce..couldnt you maybe pull it off..Im thinking there is a lot more to it for some reason..I will see people on you tube who get one and there is never and update on later videos..I understand they are pretty disease resistant..but very shy and slow about food with tankmates..but..assuming as you established a place for the pods to safely reproduce..if you where willing to but pods say once a month or so for the first few..and then maybe less frequently..Im just curious if anyone here has had good or bad experiences..I think i may try one in the future sometime..with preparation of course...even if I kept it in a tank by itself or with some other docile fish..Im just wondering if there is more to it than the pods...do they get picked on bad..or scared to death also..id love to hear some thoughts..
