Light color, effect on SPS polyps?

Just wondering has anybody see effects on SPS polyps when it comes to the color, or Kelvin rating of LEDs or T5s?

The reason I ask is I have several SPS in my tank that have their polyps extended most of the time, while I have others that are maybe 50% extended, and some that have none.

So say if you have a deep water SPS and you exposed it to a 10k light, would it have a effect on how far it would extend its polyps? Or will it only effect the color of the coral?
