Hey TRT...
just starting a new thread for a new tank.
this one's an Aqueon 40 gallon breeder.
i will be turning it into an AIO tank, just like the 20 tall, by adding a acrylic baffle to create a sump section.
the plan so far...
mixed reef... zoas, mushrooms, LPS, SPS, a few fish, hermits, snails, and MAYBE a shrimp
bare bottom.
as little water changes as possible.
will be dosing tropic marin part A/B/C following the balling method.
using tropic marin pro reef salt, boosting the alk to 8 or 9 dKH.
all the liverock from the 20 tall. (pukani)
except for one piece of mined rock that i don't like
plus one new BIG pukani that's curing right now.
i will be adding a skimmer this time, a Tunze 9004 DC
why? because my skimmerless 20 tall, has way too many tiny floating particles in it, that i hope will be skimmed out :)
more tunze equipment in the form of an osmolator ATO (moving over from the 20 tall)
and a Tunze DC controllable dc return pump
two 100Watt neo-therm heaters - i REALLY like these :)
more flow will be coming from a Vortech MP10 mounted on the left pane
and three current usa eflux wave pumps mounted on the back wall.
Lighted with a pair of AI hydra 26 HD
on a DIY stand :)
work in progress... stay tuned for updates.
