I have a small 16g (60l) reef tank. Thing is heavy and upper board of a cupboard where tank is located is starting to bend. I decided to buy new stand for it and now i have to move the tank.
I can't just pick the tank and carry it. It is way to heavy and can't be even moved for 1mm. I was thinking to do this:
- i will use a plastic bucket and fill in around 20l of new salt water. I'll have a small pump in there and heater on. Then i'll pump "old" water from the tank to the bucket, take out stone with corals and put them in a bucket. I'll leave last 10cm of the water in a tank so i won't have to move fish out.
Then tank should be light enough to move it, fill the water and return the stone to original position without hurting the corals (that will be hard). I'll also push the stones towards back more so i'll get more space in front.
Is this a good way to do it?
