Going to add corals

I've finally decided to turn the FOWLR into a reef. But before that I need to get a few things. I have no calcium, alkalinity, or magnesium test kits or buffers. In some places I've read that magnesium isn't really that important to coral, is it ok if I don't bother to test or dose mag? Also do I need to dose anything else like trace elements, iodine, strontium, or something else like that? I also want a nem for my clowns, but I've read anemone can sting or kill coral when they move. Should I get the anemone, let it settle in a sutible location, the add coral away from it?
