Exhausted CariSea A.R.M. - throw it in sump or the garbage can?

I have a few pounds of exhausted CaribSea A.R.M. (aragonite calc-reactor media)



> put in my sump as a sand bed?

> throw it away in the garbage can?



Why would I do either?
