dragon goby?

I made the mistake of putting fine sand in my reef tank with 3 mp40 pumps and added a dragon goby. Needless to say I have a small sand storm in the tank all them time. I have removed 1/2 of my sand and plan on removing the rest of it. do you think the goby will survive with out the sand to sift through?
