chaeto lighting

so I'm lighting my chaeto with a regular spiral 24watt energy saver ge bulb.. it says it puts out 125 watts..anyways i have the lamp like 3 inches away and I'm afraid that I'm burning the chaeto.. how far are your lights from the chaeto?
