What is going on with my powerhead??

This **** powerhead is driving me crazy!! I just bought the thing a couple of days ago. It's not a hydor. It's a knock off, looks just like one. I have it hooked up to me reefkeeper using the wavemaker function. The **** thing sounds like a car engine struggling to work. When I touch the prop as it's spinning the noise stops. The thing is sooooo LOUD! Thank god I just ordered twin Jebao RW-4's but **** I still need flow in the mean time
