Why don't i have algae?

I have a nutrient rich system, tap water is used, I overfeed, plenty of lighting, all the classic stuff to make algae but yet I have VERY little algae.. a few strands of hair algae on my powerhead, diatoms ended 2 weeks after I moved the tank (as well as the algae that was growing on the output of my HOB) and fully cleaned the sandbed for the first time, none on glass, sandbed, rockwork, heater, sand is over a year old yet nothing..



id say the only thing I really do right is clean 1/2 the sandbed each week when I do waterchanges and don't run media in my filter..



whats goin on here..
