I am pretty sure I have seen some of you post in the daily "good morning" threads about plants and horticulture so instead of signing up on a new forum for it I thought I would start here. Slightly off topic, but somewhat relevant.
I have been taking a interest in the bonsai art and am thinking about jumping in. I have 2 of the 120W LED fixtures over my 40 breeder. This is a bit overkill and I have some light spilling over the sides. I want to get either 2 Junipers or 2 spruce and put one on each side of the tank on a stand the same level as the tank. Do you think the light spilling over will be enough to support the trees? I might as well make use of the space and light, if possible. It may even help naturally raise the pH of my tank... wishful thinking? :p
As I said, I know this is not really reefing related, but I know some of you have a green thumb. I swear this is the only post I will make about this and if I decide to go through with it I will join a forum specific to it :D Mods, if you feel this was posted inappropriately do as you see fit with this thread.
Thanks!
