Cycling with fresh water

hi i have a question about cycling a new fowlr. i just broke down my 150 fowlr and am downsizing to a 75. i have my rock in a garbage can with a pump moving water. ( i will probably kill everything off so im prepared to start over). i was just wondering if it would be possible to cycle my new tank using fresh ro/di water with either raw shrimp or urine or any other way to raise ammonia. with every water change use ro water and when the tank is finished cycling make a big salt mix and add inhabitants a couple of days later. this is more of a science test rather than me doing it thanks alot
