Please share your experience with top products you love ..and ones you would def recommend avoiding...my thought on this was media and such but also include protein skimmers and actual equipment...
Since I am a semi newbie I only have a few things ..
Seachem Aqua vitro products Seed, Remediate-excellent experience
Seachem Purigen-excellent
Dr Tims one and only live nitrifying bacteria- excellent
Marine pure spheres..good..but...dont keep them too long! very good for starting up and establishing the bio filter..after a while I think they have to be dumped and replaced as im sure they clog with detritus eventually..but good for many months...perfect for moving to new tanks to cycle them faster
Brightwell N03 xport cubes...umm..im not sure exactly..perhaps underperforms its claims ..the jury is still out...
Brightwell Microbacter 7...Jury is out..was much more impressed with Seachem Remediate results..I realize slight difference in purpose function
ONE I would avoid...instant ocean natural nitrate reducer...I had some adverse affects in the system and saw zero affect on nitrates..maybe it works for some but not me..saw an outbreak if some gunk on my rock and sand..right after starting..and after using for a reasonable period..saw no positive effects just the sudden discoloration/gunk..discontinued use and it cleared up shortly after..thumbs down maybe it works for some...Id rather try sugar dosing than use this- I had no nitrate issues for a good while and when I saw them rising tried this..consequently when i discontinued this and removed the marine pure balls ( I had them for extra bio-filtration and start up) and just added some remdiate..the nitrates have been very much under control.. I cant review too much equipment..
I have on my 55 a hydor slim skim..I would say its ok ..not impressive I wouldnt really rave or recommend it ..but with limited experience thats not fair..it works ok..
ok anyone who wishes share your top products n ones to maybe avoid
