Hi guys, I am thinking on implementation of the partial auto water changes with the setup of my new 180gal tank. Wanted to run by some ideas I picked up from internet.
So we have a 180gal tank with overflow and 40-60 gal sump. The auto top off fresh water unit located on sump return section.
So I am thinking to drill sump and setup an overflow in the return section. So the idea is to set a timer lets say for 30seks to run new salt water from the bucket into the main tank. This would increase the level in the return section of the sump and the old water would go into the sump overflow that is directed into the sink.
Is there any issues , anything that might go wrong ?
