Sump related advice needed!

Okay guys, here's my dilemma: I have a 75 gallon marineland tank with marineland stand. I don't hate the stand as much as some of you guys hate you're factory stands so I'm keeping it (no MDF), but I have one issue. I just finished building a 2 piece sump that will fit in through the doors in the front and am noticing that the floor of the stand has sort of a convex bend to it. I think what's happening is the carpet underneath the tank is pushing the plywood bottom up more in the center because all the weight is around the edges, while the center doesn't have enough weight to compress the underlying carpet.

I'm trying to think of the best way to create a flat level surface for the sump and could use advice.

What are various padding materials that you guys have used under tanks or sumps? Anything that can make up for a somewhat convex (or bowed out) floor to the cabinet? If I put a straight edge from front to back on the floor inside the cabinet the edges of the straight edge are roughly 1/4 inch away from the floor. it's not a flat surface.

maybe put some plywood strips underneath the sump?
