Do Nassarius Snails Need An ESTABLISHED Sand Bed??

Hi all,
Ive kept nassarius snails before but th sand bed was a few months old. My new tank however, has a sandbed that is a month old at most?? If I ensure food reaches the sandbed, will they still be fine?
