Has anyone used purple up?

I've been trying to get my cal up from 360 to 400-420 ish. I bought purple up which is for coraline algae boosting but it boosts cal. I've been dosing it since Saturday and it's now at 420 which is where I want it. My water changes weeny boosting it at all. I've actually saw them decrease over the past 4 weeks. I'm using instant ocean salt. I was just wanting to see if anyone has used this before. So far it seems great as I'm seeing a few small coraline algae spots starting on my new rock I put in a month ago. I've also saw some more on my glass in the back.
