Hi TRT, I'm beginning to become dicouraged. with my first attempt at keeping a reef tank.
I setup my new biocube 29 and filled with purified water from local water specialist and IO salt, 20 Lbs live sand, some dry live rock i've had for several years. i went to a LFS and purchased roughly 5Lbs of LR and put it in Sat night. woke up Sun morning to find aiptasia on one of the rocks, removed that rock next day. yesterday i put a small piece of raw shrimp in to help cycle and today i notice what looks like the beginning of another piece of aiptasia as well as a few small spots of what i think is green bubble algae.
My question to you guys is how bad a start is this? and am i better off starting over?
i've read that both of these things can quickly take over a tank.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to post pictures, I tried posting a link to my photobucket page but it didn't work.
Thanks for any advice.
