20 gallon long sump design

Hi I am close to setting up my 20 gallon sump for my 75 gallon tank. It will be fed in the 1st chamber which is 8 inches long by an eshops 800 gph overflow. This chamber will also hold my reef octopus int 150 skimmer. The next chamber will be my refugium which will be around 12 inches long. Finally my last chamber will be my return which is about 7 inches. The other spare inches are used by the baffles. This is my first sump I've ever designed. So my questions are

1. Does the skimmer have a big enough chamber to operate or even fit? (If not I can make it longer. Also if the water level is to high I can put it on egg crate.)

2. Would a rio 792 gph return pump do the job? If not I can put valves in my plumbing to regulate the flow.

3. Would PVC or flexible tubing be better for my plumbing?

If any more information is needed let me know. Thanks guys!!!
