When is to soon?

I just bought a Trumpet yesterday evening. As a gift to myself for excellent grades this semester I wanted to go pick up a star polyp (its on a piece of coral that is the size of the average palm) my LFS has.



Should I wait a while for adding another coral?



Tank perimeters are spot on as of this morning before I headed to work.
