question re live rock "storage"

Hey everyone, so I'm starting a reef tank after xmas with the Biocube.I'll be able to get everything (sand, water, equipment, etc) beforehand. The live rock I can get as early as xmas eve.



My question is, since I'll be gone for almost a week after xmas and want to start cycling as soon as possible, if I was to buy the rock xmas eve, could I submerse it in a 5 gallon bucket of nutriseawater and place it in the tank next the day?



I just mean would it be too detrimental to it if I did that?
