Beginning a salt water aquarium!

Hi everybody! I've decided that I no longer want to continue with my freshwater fish tank and change to a saltwater tank. Right now I have a 29 gallon top fin starter aquarium. I think that this is probably too small for what I want. I found a 55 gallon aquarium and stand on Craigslist for 50 dollars. If I bought these, what else would I need to purchase to have a running saltwater aquarium. I'd love to have a live reef but I have a very tight budget so any cheap tips would be nice. What are some good cool looking starting fish?
