Announcing our new PAR38 Reef Light

We are pleased to announce that we have just introduced our new PAR38 CR19 Reef Light for smaller reef tanks for only $79.

The light operates at a true 19W of measured power.

While we use full spectrum in our larger lights, for the PAR38 we use a combination of (1) 420nm Purple, (2) 440nm Deep Blue, (4) 460nm Blue and (5) 14000K Crisp white LEDs. This gives a good color spectrum while minimizing the color banding that can be a problem on PAR38 lights that try to do a full spectrum. PAR38 lights have too few LEDs available in the array to pull off full spectrum well in my opinion.

Here is a comparison of the color banding (fringing) between the CR19 Reef Light on the left and a full spectrum PAR38 light on the right with the light in the same position in both pictures.

The picture below shows 2 of these lights temporarily mounted over a 65g tank that is 36" x 18" x 24" deep to show the basic light spread and penetration of the lights.

Unfortunately lack of space in front of the tank prevents getting a straight on photo of the whole tank, but here is a partial picture at the bottom of the tank. The coral on the left is Cespitularia, so yes it is suppose to be that color.

The chart below shows illumination distance vs light spread and light intensity in PAR measured directly under the light. As you move out towards the edges of the light cone, the intensity decreases as with any light.

Price is only $79 with free shipping. We also have PAR light mounting accesories available.Go to website
