So I picked up a black and Orange ocellaris clown last night from my LFS. I checked them out over the week and took them home. They had taken one fish out of their sale tanks and QT'd it because it had a few spots in it. Both looked fine and even ate food in the bags during the 45 mins I acclimated them. (Only tossed in 1 or 2 1mm pellets). All I had in the tank this far is one RG.
Put them in the tank last night around 7pm. Woke up this morning to see the Orange one had 5-6 tiny white dots on it. I put some pellets and brine in to feed them as usual and both clowns ate some but not much. After an hour I see most of the spots on the Orange one are gone.
Water params are fine and I will continue to monitor and feed. Fish is not showing any other symptoms yet. Just shows to go each store has its own train of thought on advice and selling fish. I trusted them not to QT since they looked good and ate. I'm not gonna qt this guy since if it is ich, it's already in the tank and I don't want to stress him anymore.
I decided the observe and drop in my DT method would be best for less stress and it was a 50/50 view by many hobbyists. I also trusted my LFS since their tanks are so clean and healthy.
