Lots of cycle threads around. I have a 90 gallon, with ~85 lb of dry rock, 1 lb of live rock bought from LFS. I have a graph of my cycle but now that the Nitrates have skyrocketed it's useless to look at because the ammonia doesn't really show.
The ammonia top was only about 2 ppm. I used 2 huge shrimp and they are pretty much disintegrated now. I am seeing some brown algae spots (I have no idea how to id algae yet). My ammonia today is almost 0, but less than 0.25. Keep in mind I'm using an API test. So, you know...
But my Nitrites are up to 5ppm today, or basically the top of my chart. Nitrates 160, also top of my chart. Should I be adding something to keep more ammonia? I can't seem to find cheap pure ammonia. It's all lemon ammonia in the stores so suggestions would be welcome of any big stores that may carry it.
Oh, 40 B sump. Skimmer off during cycle.
