Proper Tank Glass Cleaning - Assistance

We have a 72 Gallon saltwater tank containing: one RBTA, one Clarkii Clownfish, one Blue Damsel, one diamond goby, 6-10 hermit crabs (can't find all of them), and 5 snails. The tank has been established for 1 year, and water quality has been tested recently at home and LFS concluding that it is great.

* I would include water quality details however I am not familiar with the terms (my husband is more educated on this matter).

* He has not had time to do so, so I am looking to do it myself.

Recently we have had a larger build up than normal of Coralline algae on all sides of the glass in our tank and I while I have heard that this is not necessarily a bad thing, and this algae is good, I was hoping to clean at least the front of the glass on the tank.

A) Is this a good idea? (to get the coralline off the front glass pane)

B) What is the safest/proper way to do so?

C) How often should this be done?

Thank you,

Erika
