Fish.freak's 4x 1,300L Rebuild

Hey TRT its been a long time since I have posted here been a bit busy and haven't got a chance to take good shots.

Im in the process of redesigning 4 8 foot cement/ acrylic tanks here are the specs:

So the limitations of this system are there are only 2 40mm standpipes 1 of which is capped due to poor position.

also the one I am using is also a bit our of position so it is using 2 elbows at the bottom to move it to the corner.

because of this the return pump is limited to 6000 lph or so.

Due to the small clearance of the tank to the floor the sump is also small and so is the skimmer.

So my question is how can I redesign the overflow system to reach optimal flow to the sump? I was thinking to cut a slot into the side of the tank maybe 6" deep x 12" long with a mesh over it to keep the fish inside.

What is optimal flow to the sump for a tank of this size and how big would the overflows have to be to achieve this?

Can the existing 40mm holes be converted to cls?

Can a larger skimmer be set out of the sump and hard plumbed from a submersible pump?

What skimmer would be best?

Thanks guys looking forward to what you recommend.
