Well it's taken a few weeks to get the tank drilled for a herbie, acrylic corner overflow box constructed then painted and installed but it's finally wet. I'm pretty happy with the aquascaping right now though I still have a few baseball sized pieces to put in...or not put in.
I've yet to decide on a skimmer and pump for the 10g sump but the access hole to slide it in is cut and reinforced on each side. The bulkheads are glued up with the elbows and awaiting the union connections. I added extra support blocks to attach the split ring hangars since it was too tight of a fit to screw them into the top rail on the stand.
I just finished topping off the tank this afternoon. I didn't want to do it last night and wake up to a wet floor and angry wife if the overflow leaked. :D Water line is just below the weir and so far no leaks into the overflow. I figure in another hour or two I'll add some RO to the overflow and test the bulkheads and connections for leaks. Couple of ball valves to keep the floor dry while testing and then to drain it out.
The water has cleared up beautifully overnight with some polyfill/carbon running in the clean up canister filter. I may or may not add the RO HOB skimmer depending on when I get the sump going but I'm leaning towards not bothering since its a bit of a pain to get dialed in.
There's about 20lbs of BRS Fiji live rock and another 25lbs or so of BRS dry rock. 40lbs of fine grain live sand and will be adding some coarser dry sand some time this week. Provided there are no leaks in the overflow I don't have much to do but wait...which is of course the most exciting part of the hobby ;)
I'll add the pics shortly since uploading multiples on a phone doesn't work to well. :)
