So I am going to be moving my tank in two weeks and have been wanting to switch to bare bottom for a wail. My tank taller so it's difficult to keep the sand clean and I'm not the best and sifting the sand so I think it would benefit me to make the switch to BB.
I have read multiple threads about slowly removing the sand to switch to BB, but I haven't seen many about switching all at once.
Would it be a bad idea to switch to bare bottom during the move? I'm worried that I might lose to much benificial bacteria. During the move I plan on putting the fish and live rock in buckets (separate buckets) to transfer to the new house.
The tank is a 75 gallon FOWLR except for a chocolate chip star,. Fish two clowns, one spot foxface, and a fuzzy dwarf lion. Filtration: 20 gallon sump, ASM G2 skimmer, and uv filter.
