Aquamaxx HOB-1

I recently purchased the Aquamaxx HOB-1 skimmer for my 27G tank. The first week it skimmed very well but every time I feed it stops skimming completely. I know this is often normal as I feed frozen mysis but the skimmer never starts to skim again even 12+ hours after feeding. I have had the skimmer running for about two weeks now and still really no skimming is happening. My bio load I am not sure would be considered big or small but consists of 1 firefish, 1 neon goby, 1 yellow watchman, and some scarlet legs as well as snails. I have very few corals, green star polyp, dragon favia, christmas favia, small zoa colony, and small regenerating acan *it was injured and is being nursed back to life*. Can anyone suggest any fixes or reasons I may be getting no skimming action? I also try to do 5G a week water changes and have tried adjusting the skimming cup up and down. Thanks!
