Black pond expandable foam aaand silicone

Has anyone used silacone to glue a rock wall made of black pond foam and live rock on egg crate to the back of an aquarium. If so what specific kind of silicone, and is it still holding on. I'm worried about how well the silacone will ahere to the black pond foam.
