refugium light

So guys do you think it's worth the investment on a more expensive light for the refuge or is the basic 100 watt light bulb good enough? Also opinions on best base to use as far as mud etc...

75 gallon reef and a 30 gallon refuge sump. Would love to show the progress but have zero idea how to post pics on this forum.
